My son has been awarded higher rate DLA and we are now eligible for the mobility scheme. Having never had a new car before i have narrowed it down to these 2. Any thoughts on which is the better car. Both have 180+bhp.

IBTL.

I'd go with the Juke due entirely to my visceral hatred of Large MINIs.

Was it you on the other thread that said your son needed help getting in and our of the car?

If so, get the Juke, much higher of the ground and has significantly better ease of access!

yes it was me on other thread. Although it a mobility car, is it wrong to want something a little exciting. The mini and juke both have 180-190 bhp so a wee bit of fun is definitely there to be had.

Well, they're both FWD, and if I'm honest I've never got along with the MINI that well, I think I'd be tempted to try the Juke. It gets good reviews generally, and the fact that your son will no doubt find it easier to access has to be a big bonus! smile

The Juke, aside from being incredibly ugly and too try hard design wise, looks to have a heavily sloped rear roof line and large wheel arch intrusion into the rear door, which suggests access may be quite difficult. Might be something to consider for a motability car.

TBH, if I wanted a "exciting" car as you put it, I would not even consider a pseudo 4x4 that was designed for school run mums. A brisk estate would be far more up my street - something like a Skoda Fabia VRs perhaps.

I assumed that his son would be sitting in the front lol, which would be much easier in a Juke than a MINI smile

I'll go against the grain and choose the Mini.

I think they're both horrendously ugly to look at, but I like the inside of the Mini more than I do the Juke. Presume the Mini is the quicker of the two, although I've heard the Juke is quite a good drive as well.

I would guess that the Mini would drive quite well. Hateful looking thing though and is the driving definition of Irony!

If the Juke drives ok, I'd pick the Juke ever time. At least it is trying to be a bit different.
