Fun three pots??
Discussion
Hi all,
Rented a car recently a 1.2 Seat Ibiza and its pretty awful and slow, but it does have one major redeeming feature, the noise its engine makes. Do all three pots sound like this? I'd never driven one before.
If so what are the really fun ones to drive, I'm guessing Smart roadster and Toyota Aygo/C1/107, any other hidden gems out there?

From memory I believe these were 3cyl but please correct me if I'm wrong:
I had a C reg 1.3 12v honda civic and that was such a great car. Behaved like a VTEC with a noticeable step up in power at 4k
My mum has just given her B reg away to a family friend with only 78k on the clock. Passed the MOT every year with no problems.
Great little cars

Typically* valves come in 2s or 4s so 12 valves is either 3(cyl) x 4(valves) or 6(cyl) x 2(valves). So the Honda is almost certainly a three pot.I had a C reg 1.3 12v honda civic and that was such a great car. Behaved like a VTEC with a noticeable step up in power at 4k

* exceptions include the VAG 20v 4cyl and the ancient 12v 4cyl landrover engines.

My mates brother has a 107, and by all accounts it is hardly a hidden gem.

Really? I'd heard only good things about the Aygo and C1, assumed the 107 would be the same. Maybe Peugeot managed to screw it up but I don't see how, they're basically the same car aren't they.
I had a C1 as a courtesy car when someone drove into me. I was only 17 still, so it was the only courtesy car I could get. I hated the thing (coming from a 1.2 corsa)It couldn't go round corners due to being on bike tyres, the interior was horrendous and loud, ABS standed for "A Braking System" (certainly wasn't antilock!). Motorways were a terrifying experience where any crosswinds would decide what lane you were in, no matter which way the steering wheel was pointed. And the boot, well, wasn't.
On top of that, the clutch was knackered and the exhaust blowing due to being an abused hire car.
On the upside, the toyota 3pot engine was pretty revvy, and it could go quite nicely. It also didn't seem to use much fuel even when being ragged!
