Talk to me about......... Honda Legend's
Discussion
Right here's the story..... I'm getting into bikes. And turns out its quite expensive! So once I get back from the Nurburgring/Spa in a few weeks I'll be selling my Mk1 MX5 track car to free up some cash, and will be looking at a sub grand run around.... and I've decided to try a nice waftmobile!
Now the classifieds are full of the usual German/Lexus barges.... however I've stumbled across a Honda Legend. And this is a thing I know relatively little about. The car is a '97 3.5 V6 Auto with 80k miles, a full history, years MOT and 6 months tax, with heated leather and all the toys they seem to come with. For the money it seems spot on....
Any things I need to know about?
Cheers, EM177

I had one about the same MY as well.
It is a RHD Acura RL so is an American car in reality, and drives like one. I happen to like to waft in yank waftiness so it was great.
I only had it 6 months as the gearbox is made of plastic and rubber bands (well that was the description) and developed a scratching sound between 1st and 2nd on changing. Like you get when crunching gears in a manual. Cost me a grand to get it rebuilt and it still didn't feel right.
All toys are standard so there's no difference between any two cars I seem to remember.
Oh, the other thing was it is FWD which just felt wrong coming from a Merc W124 220E.
I replaced it with a BMW 7 series E38 3.5 V8. Shedloads more power but not half as reliable overall I'd bet.
