I'm not looking for ring-meisters or expert wheel men. But when on the road in normal driving how would you rate your ability in relation to the standards you observe from others on the road?

I am a driving god.

Objectively however, I'm too aggressive and too quick.

yes

Some posts I've noticed recently would suggest that a number of members shouldn't be ticking that box yet.

Are we talking Car handling, or road driving (observation etc.) I know some good racers who shouldn't have a driving license and some great road drivers who wouldn't know which way to point the car on a grid!

As this is a motor enthusiasts forum we are all bound to be better than the average 'couldn't care less' driver.
A lot here have done track driving and advanced shuffle handing.

I love driving and take heed when I read about other people's poor examples, so as to avoid those mistakes.

I've raced for real, done an early version of the police's roadcraft course and no longer get road rage.

I'm older and don't race everywhere anymore, yet I'm fast when I'm away from pedestrians.

But recently I crashed into someone - the first accident attributable to me in 26 years of driving. I no longer have the confidence I used to have because of this but I think it's made me safer as a consequence of my increased awareness.

I was a decent-enough racer once but I will never again be competitive because I no longer feel immortal.

Its that feeling that takes the edge of my racing I think

The latter, I can appreciate that most people don't need to know a huge amount about the former.

I've just applied to be a racing driver with Abarth so if I get through their programme I'll let you know in a year.

I like to think I'm some kind of amazing driver. Hitting a lamppost a few months back proves that I'm not as good as I thought I was and may actually be a bit st.

I've voted for 'could do better' as I know that no matter how good I may be there's always room for improvement.

I've only been driving for about 4 months so of course I am the world's greatest driver that ever lived not that good really.

I'd like to think that I am a good driver, but I have only driven once since passing my test 7 months ago so I am both inexperienced and completely out of practice. On that basis I could definitely be an awful lot better, but that is going to have to wait a few years just yet.
