I see alot of PH'rs seem to be buying auto's these days, what is so good about them ?
As someone who enjoys driving & loves a good manual gear change am I old fashioned ? Or is auto the way forward ?
I've driven a Cayman R PDK & wasn't too impressed & the auto's you hire in the USA are cr*p.

I have a dual clutch gearbox in the GT-R and I always drive it in manual mode via the paddles and it really suits the car, it's a different driving experience to a manual gearbox, but a fantastic one all the same. I find in the GT-R because my hands are always on the wheel I focus on other aspects of driving like positioning the car and perfecting my single input steering or not as the case may be LOL! The traffic light grand prix really is something else just flicking up through the gears just like an F1 car
The wife's boxster S is a different proposition and I couldn't imagine that with a PDK infect we've just ordered a new one and selected a manual gearbox again, it just seems to fit the car and I love it, the first car I have really got to grips with heel and toeing to the point where I'm not bouncing of the windscreen LOL!
So horses for courses I think but both have their merits and to not embrace both is a little short sighted
