Quick query: reasonable insurers for younger drivers
Discussion
One thing I will say is it tends to help out to put older named drivers on your policy, that may help bring the cost down. When I bought my Abarth GP I was 22 with 3 years NCB. Chucked my nan as a named driver for my car (been driving forever with 5 years NCB) and it brought the cost down by about £200. Plus it means my nan can drive it too which is an added bonus

I used to hear good things about Flux years ago but recently I've only heard of expensive policies with a lot of limitations or limits on mods, something they used to be great at. Have they really changed from 'niche' to 'mass market' and therefore trying to avoid the expensive younger drivers?
Assuming you have tried Admiral - they tend to be the cheaper of the mainstream insurers, from experience.
Sky Insurance (not the TV guys!) are a broker that have got me an amazing deal on an S2K.
As above, as long as the older people you are adding are lower risk then it will help with some, but not all, insurers.
Good Luck and keep plugging away.
ETA: Whoops, should have read your first post better!
Do you have a clean license?

I'm insured with Elephant for my cars (I'm 21, M3/VTEC Mini), was with Admiral last year for my VXT. They're owned by the same company, EUI (IIRC), and have been pretty reasonable for insurance. It helps to add your mum and dad to the policy as named drivers, even if they're not going anywhere near the car.
ETA: Insurance for my VX last year was £1300 fc, this year the M3 and the Mini together come to a total of about £1800 fc.

Admiral always seem to come out the cheapest for me on the comparison sites (been doing lots of hypothetical quotes recently) and I'm also current with Admiral on my 1.6 Ford Focus and with both parents as named drivers, this years came out at just under £800. I'm 20 and have 1 years no claims. My first year of insurance (when I was 19, no NCB) was around £950. They're definitely worth a look.
