Which 3.0L Merc for veggie ?

Hi all,
I have decided that I want a diesel Merc.
Not any old diesel Merc, but one that will quite happily run SVO for most of the summer without modifications.
SVO = strait veggie oil from Costco.
Doing some reading on internet, it seems the 6 cyl 3.0L OM603 and the 6 cyl 3.0L OM606 are quite suitable.
The primary differences are the OM603 is 12 valve, and the OM606 is 24 valve.
Both putting out very similar hp and tq.
I am not fully decided on saloon or estate as yet.
What I would like though is the most recent Merc. that I can run on veggie.
As far as I know that is just the 3.0L Turbodiesel in W124 body style from 1994 to 1996.
Am I correct that 1996 is the end of the line for the veggie munching Mercs?
