2 What Cars for 5k

My partner and I have just got new jobs and will both be commuting about 70 miles a day (in different directions). So I don't have to sell any of my toys we are looking for two bargain sensible commuter cars. The criteria are:

- 1 big hatch or estate
- real world over 50mpg
- Reliable
- Cheap to run
- Total budget £5,000

What do you recommend?
