Does anyone know if my A4 will run on biodiesel? im doing about 1000 miles a week at the moment and looking to see if there is any way of saving some pennies

IS there also a definative list of dealers or forecourts the dispense Biodiesel around Gatwick area?

Thanks

I think VAG said a big NO to it in the PD engines.

I think it was doable in the old ones, and have heard of people using it in the older 2.5 V6 which wasn't PD.

I don't know about the latest CR stuff.

The manual for my PD130 ibiza says no. Therefore I wouldn't try it!

There is probably a picture inside the filler flap - a big NONO, I'm afraid.

I tried a Fabia VRS (same PD 130 engine) on it years ago, it struggled to start but ran OK. Needless to say I never did it again.
Later I read the manual which states not to use it.

I have a VAG TDi and it says no to biodiesel in the manual and under the filler flap.

However I have driven a fair few km's in France, where all their pump diesel is (I think) about 10% biodiesel, with no adverse effects.

So rather than 100% pump fuel, you might be able to get by on 90/10 or 80/20 veg. Obviously I take no responsibility for the failure of your injectors, fuel pump or the tax man catching up with you.

I've a 1998/99 Audi Tdi 110 (AFN) with 120K, fully serviced, owned since nearly new. If I added 10-20% clean veg oil straight into tank, do you see any problems or is it not worth the savings?

To save about 4p per litre (based on your proposal, is it really worth any risk at all?
