Serious econo box reqd
Discussion
Had a 107 hire car for a fortnight. Loved it.
Very basic, but we know that otherwise we wouldnt be looking.
Sounds good. Handles well. Pretty nippy upto 30 (1st tops out at 35, 2nd at 60
)
If i remember correctly i got 350-400 miles to a tankfull, wringing its neck the full tme.
Cant comment on parts / reliability.

Approx 35 miles return journey.
A commuter bike is something that I have long dwelt over, but I have serious concerns over income loss should anything nasty occur. If that wasn't a concern,I wouldn't want to have to ride in the depths of winter- been there and done that thanks.
35 miles round trip would only amount to ~8500 miles a year commuting.A commuter bike is something that I have long dwelt over, but I have serious concerns over income loss should anything nasty occur. Personal mileage on the top, if you arent going to pass 12k a diesel isnt worth the additional pruchase price (common theory is 12k is the breakeven taking in to account greater price of diesel and additional purchase price)
I think this would be squewed further if it wasnt to be your only car, as then the additional tax/MOT/insurance needs pricing in to the break even.

Currently running a 52 plate KA that's not brilliant in fuel and needs some money spending on it. Was just trying to see if buying a newer ,more efficient motor was a valid way forward.
I cannot see fuel returning to anything like sensible again TBH.
Our 06 plate is returning more than 40mpg, and currently needs c£500 spending on 2 tyres, a good service, a pair of rear springs and a new clutch slave cylinder (which means changing the clutch while its all apart). I cannot see fuel returning to anything like sensible again TBH.
It hurts dropping that much money on a cheap car but should keep it from needing anything but oil for another 2 or 3 years.

How's the body, has it dissolved yet? Those things rot very well indeed. My GF had one, I won't go near another.I cannot see fuel returning to anything like sensible again TBH.

Wasn't looking at diesels as I hate the bloody stuff.
Not our only car and not used for much more then commuting tbh.
Ah, never mind. I was going to suggest buying a pug diesel of some description. 205, 106, 306.Not our only car and not used for much more then commuting tbh.
You'll get 60 mpg out of all of them and can buy one for £700.
My Ex had an Aygo and thought it was great. She's not the sort who'd be after a "driver's car" so I can't comment on it, but it seemed OK.
