Just seen a top gear episode the caravan one where they set it on fire. Noticed the forecourt price a Texaco.

So that was 2008? Any better guesses
Also price has increased by 50% in the short period of time. Bloody hell

Slightly aside, but I remember petrol hit 82.9p per litre in my local garage just before the fuel protests in mid-2000

I think you are probably about right with your guess of 2008, it would either have been late 2008 or early 2009. May 2009 was the last time petrol was 99.9 round here so that was probably a few months earlier.
