Straw Poll Please....which car out of these?

starting my own business and need a new car.

conscious of fuel consumption and willing to pay £4-£5K. I think I'd get a 04-55 plate out of these with 80-100K on the clock.

Audi A3 2.0 TDI
Saab 9.3 1.9 diesel
BMW 3 series 2.0 diesel
was also thinking about a BMW 1 series but they are just beyond my budget.
VW Golf 1.9/2.0 TDI

whats your choice please and any that you'd avoid. Any help appreciated!

BMW all the way for me. Try and find a nice 320d coupe, possibly m-sport with contrasting interior and preferably m-sport alloys, the one below is on the trader for 5k asking price:

If money will be tight and you want something dependable then a 1.9PD VAG would be my choice, buying an Octavia, Bora/Jetta or Passat Saloon should buy you more car than in a Golf or A3 for your budget.

forgive my ignorance but is the golf, audi, seat, skoda all the same engine?

i'd prefer the 2.0 140bhp.
