Watching the E Type anniversary feature on Top Gear on Dave this morning while waiting for my dentists appointment and saw the Eagle Speedster again.

Sweet Baby Jesus and the Orphans.

Normally I think Clarkson talks a phenominal amount of cr@p about cars and I havent taken him seriously as a motoring journalist for years but on this car he is spot on.

I also think its probably the best looking car <Clarkson Voice> in the world!! <Clarkson Voice off>, dare I say it even more beautiful than a Muira SV?

When my Euromillions numbers come up and I buy my villa in Tuscany one of these will be the first things I buy.

Stunning cloud9

Mod edit: removed massive pictures and replaced with smaller ones, Click the image if you want the uber high res version.

Agreed and maybe Eagle could liven up an XJ Series II for days when it rains?

Beautiful but I'm always amazed that they put P6000's on them!

cloud9

It's [far] better than the original.
(Not often you can say that about a recreation.)

Meh. Too "hot-rod" for my liking. Tall drivers like Clarkson also look ridiculous sitting bolt-upright in it.

I'd have a nice original Series 1 roadster over that any day of the week. Especially a Lightweight replica.

I appear to be in the minority....but

I prefer the E type.

The Eagle is still a very beautiful thing. But IMHO the original is more so.

Know what I'm watching tonight.

That car is utterly sublime, probably one of the most amazingly gorgeous shapes ever to grace the road.

Definitely on my lottery list.

It's definitely on my lottery list and although i can think of many beautiful cars (original E-Type included) i can think of none which are more beautiful than this, it's truely stunning

what other cars like this are available? I know the Eagle, Jenson, Cobras and Chesil Speedsters but wonder if there are any others? (not crappy kit cars or knock offs though)

The sound of the engine does it for me much more than the looks. Which, handbeaten body or not, looks pretty boring imo. A good package but an almost identical car could be built for much much less if a press was used, and other modern construction techniques.

All in all 10/10 for engine note, 4/10 for the car.
