Best way to remove boot badges?

What is the best way to remove manufactuer applied badges applied to the boot without damaging the paint?
The car is 2 years old so has stick on badges from what I can make out.

I was told to use dental floss. But in the end a local scrote stole the badge, so I only had to use some cleaner to remove the sticky residue.

Wish I hadn't bothered really, as the car was stolen a couple of days later.

Lightly use a hot hairdryer on them to soften the glue, then slide dental floss behind them. Credit card (+ a cloth to protect the paint as you slide it under the edge of the badge) also works well.

You need petrol, lots of it

I used hot water (not boiling) and a card. Then just need something to get the rest of the residue off, I rubbed it with my finger and nail which seemed to work, nail was fairly soft from all the water. Did managed to slightly blister my finger from the rubbing though, all the friction, it got fairly hot...

In the past I've used a hair dryer and my Blockbuster membership card.

I haven't rented a movie from them for years, I only keep the card in my wallet as I don't have a scraper for removing ice from my windscreen in the winter.
