So I've got a little pig dog arriving in June (due Le Mans weekend - typical) and this weekend's job is to get a car seat.

Just fitted isofix brackets to the A6, but will also occasionally need to go in our Yaris which doesn't have isofix.

Obviously I'm tempted by a Recaro - but it could just be the name.

Dads (and Mums) of PH, what do you recommend I look at?

Maxi cosi Cabrio fix to start (with an easy fix base for the Audi)
Then Maxi Cosi Tobi
Then Maxi Cosi Rhodi

We used a maxicosi + easyfix base (non-ISOFIX). This is the one where the base stays in the car and the capsule can be removed. This was a huge benefit when they were asleep as could just detach it and carry them upstairs

We've got the easyfix base too. The little un isn't born yet, but apparently it takes two seats, one for newborns and one when they're 12 months or so.

The clip in clip out thing is what attracted us too.

This - had ours delivered yesterday. According to my research, one of the best you can buy.

We have two Recoro seats, one with isofix for my civic (profi plus) and one without for the wifes car (young sport). I believe I am right in thinking they don't do a seat which can be mounted with and without isofix.

E have the Maxi cosi cabrio fix and the isofix base which is an electronic one to show it's locked in or not. This base allows you to use it with two seats the cabrio which lasts from birth up until one year to 18 months weight dependant and then the next seat forget the name but that then lasts from then up until 4yesrs or 5 years.

After that you can buy some other seat which lasts until they are 10 or no longer need a bolster seat.

I'd highly recommend you do not buy used - reason being you wl never know if it's been involved in a car accident and if it has it's protection will be not as good. If it's bought from a friend that's different.
For us we didn't have anyone offloading so bought all the kit new and planned the buys to tie in with sales (everyday for 8 odd months had a web search ended up getting the lot for well under half the usual price).

Also fr usage if you have more than one child they will last - if you have an accident with one though it is junk buy another
