Fingers crossed a deal can be done...
Discussion
Considering trading both of mine against a single replacement, the deal needs some cash in to make it work
But, lo and behold and in a never happened before surprise, the trade ins are worth (according to the dealer) a bit less than I hoped, so the cash requirement is more than I would like it to be
The difference is, by my reckoning, coverable by selling both of mine privately (will go down that route to see if it can work in a decent timeframe) rather than trading them in (neither would be retailed by the dealer taking them from me)
So far there hasn't been any worthwhile movement by the dealer: 12 months road tax & a full tank has been mentioned
The salesman knows what the gap is and I have indicated to him that I will buy if the gap is closed
I haven't taken a huge amount of time to find out enough to fully understand the dealer's position on this particular car, but I know its been in stock about 7 weeks and that the price hasn't changed in that time
Anyway, I have put it to the salesman that I will try to close the gap by selling my 2 privately, but that I am not hugely optimistic and that I have, therefore, also arranged to look at some cheaper examples of the car I want to go into next at other dealerships (true enough and I will be looking at others as soon as Monday)
I feel I can do no more for now...

@OP, please do not post in riddles, give us a clue please?

@ 750turbo
From what I understood, OP wants to replace two cars with one. A dealer has the car OP wants, but has offered less on the two trade ins than OP would have liked, so OP has decided to try and sell both his cars privately, but has also told the dealer that if they wanted to shift a car that has been on their books for 6 weeks, they should just increase the OP's trade in values.
OP concluded that all that was left to do was to wait and see if the dealer was prepared to increase the trade in prices, to reduce cost to change.
The toast agreed with the OP's concluding statement with the word "yeah", presented in a toastical form.

I did sort of work that out...(Apart from the toast bit) From what I understood, OP wants to replace two cars with one. Not hard really, is it.
RE: The FFRR,
Might be worth speaking to Gaz from here...

He sometimes buys the fullfatrr forum members cars that are for sale if they're in good condition with sensible miles, you never know, he MAY offer more than the p/x price you were given.

I will contact Gaz, thanks for that but, in all honesty, the RR is not the best example around. Might be worth speaking to Gaz from here...

The 997 is Premier League - I am sure that will sell for more than the trade in offer. The RR might be in the Championship just now, but its struggling to stay up as the run in to the end of the season progresses.

That must put the Maser in the Champions League then.
Yes the Maser is an immaculate example with only one minor difference from the spec. I would go with if choosing it all myself. It is certainly Champions League finals standard and, if it came to me, I could keep it that way.The downside of the RR, and why its only a championship level example is that before I took it on, it had 'enjoyed' 3 years under the ownership of my OH. She isn't the most careful and it was the car that carried the kids and all their entranclements, food, drink etc. etc.
