Worst car you have owned
Discussion
We're all good at telling everyone what great cars we've owned or own but what about the secrets?
What's lurking in your dodgy history you've kept locked away and don't tell anyone about?
I've had a few dodgy cars but the worst was one of these.
I stripped my motorbike and resprayed the frame, put it back together and it wouldn't run. My workshop manager asked me to swap it for a base model beige Cavalier. I needed a car for dumping at the airport so thought, why not.
It had about 1 months MOT left, but, it was a minter. I ran it around with utter embarrassment, I really felt uncomfortable being associated with it. I took it for an MOT and it failed with the floor being made of fibre-glass.
It was gonna cost three times the value of the car to fix it.
My friends and I saw her off in a very interesting manner re-enacting the Dukes of Hazard.

Did a picture of it in mid air end up in a car magazine at the time by any chance?? My friends and I saw her off in a very interesting manner re-enacting the Dukes of Hazard.
Clio 182.
Melting steering wheel not covered by Renault, trim fit & finish is better on my 20 year-old Astra, stupid driving position, paper-thin panels, inept main dealers charging ludicrous prices.
I'm sure I could think of more if I could gather the enthusiasm.
On the plus side, it went like stink.

Well, I did initially think of the Datsun Sunny I had for a while a few years ago which I got for the kids as a £100 runabout. Ended up using it as a station car myself as well.
Then I thought, it started every time, I didn't lift the bonnet in 2 years, the heater worked, it was so unappealing that you could leave it anywhere unlocked and no-one would steal it. On that basis, I wish I still had it!
And then I remembered my Fiat Strada. Now I do confess to having been a bit of a Fiat chap in the past but yee gods that was horrid. I'd still like a 130tc Abarth version though!

Not sure I've ever owned a truly bad car.
My E30 BMW 320i was monumentally unreliable, but that's probably par for the course for £350. Likewise, my Sylva Leader was hugely impractical and almost as unreliable as the BMW, but that was a 1980s kit car built with 1970s Fiat bits so, again, it wasn't really any less than I'd signed up for...

Funnily enough at one point in time I would have said the same... however I'm now on my second one and loving it!Melting steering wheel not covered by Renault, trim fit & finish is better on my 20 year-old Astra, stupid driving position, paper-thin panels, inept main dealers charging ludicrous prices.

I think most people's worst would be their first, but looking over that it's got to be my Punto GT really. Still, what did I expect for £800?
My (allegedly) British Racing Green W-Reg Vauxhall Vectra. It actually reminded me of my ex-wife. Ugly, drunk to much, made lots of noise but didn't do much, unreliable, emotionless, and constantly had a strange aroma despite constant cleaning. In fact, it's only positive (for the car, not the ex) was a really big boot!
Oh, and just like the ex-wife, it was cheap and I was glad to see it leave my life
