unbeliveable the car in question has been on PH for 30mins and i get this classic smile

I came across your car,i really appreciate it,i am an oceanographer and am currently on the sea at the moment, i am buying the car as a gift for my dad,i want to make it a surprise gift for him,he won''t know anything about the gift until they get delivered to him.So i want you to reassure me that the car is in good condition as you have described. I can only pay through PayPal. So please kindly get back to immediately so i can proceed with the payment and after the payment has been done,i have a pick up agent that will come around to pick the item up immediately after payments.I''ll like to let you know that the shipping fee for the pick-up of the item we included with the payment. Instruction on how to get the fee to the shipper who will be responsible for the pick-up we also enclosed along with the PayPal payment. I''ll like to know if you can be entrusted with the fee in your possession. Get back to me immediately.
Looking forward to hear from you soon. Thanks

Dear ****

Hi, I also am an oceanographer and also currently at sea. Oddly, I bought the car as a gift for my dad as a surprise although as he's been dead for 10 years, it didn't work out. The car is actually in a very poor condition and not at all as described - it's Reliant Rialto for a start. Unfortunately, I only accept Paypal which requires a booking fee of £500 which you need to pay in advance to my bank account. Following that, I will introduce you to my sister, who is a cheap pick-up agent. I cannot be entrusted with any fee as I am due to skip the country with your money upon receipt and Iam already on bail for sending e-mail scams so am not to be trusted.

I wonder if there's a real oceanographer out there who can't work out why, despite having just won the Malawian lottery, nobody seems to want to sell a car to him?

Not the best scam but it must be working at least 1% of the time to make it worthwhile. They need your details to make a payment through paypal, they put these into a fake email from paypal linking to a fake paypal site saying you have been paid.

The only clever thing about it is to use the correct information to make people think the email must be genuine. Someone will collect the car I assume from another scam, "work from home and make ££££ from the internet" then be asked to resell it or drop it for shipment.

They may even be trying to get people (who think the balance is real) to provide shipping as well.

I did sell one to an oil rig worker once.

As he was off shore he transferred the money and collected it some weeks later.

No nigerians / fathers / paypal / western union was involved.
