Electric garage doors
Discussion
I have a large double garage which I would like to fit with an electric door opener on the double up and over door. The problem is, I have a car hoist in the middle of the garage so if I fit a normal door opener, it will restrict the height I can take cars up to on the hoist.
Anyone know of a door opener that fits to the side, rather than the middle like most I have seen?

Change it to an electric roller door much more secure and seals very well.
It's a big door and will cost a fortune to replace... It is also insulated and seals around the side perfectly so I can't see the point of replacing it.Anyone ever mounted a central motor to the side? Anyone see a problem in doing that?
Anyone know who the market leaders are so I can give them a call?
Cheers guys

Our electric doors work from a motor on one side at the bottom that pulls cables. There is nothing on the roof at all.
There are single doors but I don't see why you couldnt use it on a bigger door.
Any idea of the make? There are single doors but I don't see why you couldnt use it on a bigger door.
I'd be able to tell you in a week and a bit...

Everest fitted our Electric garage door , its great , push a button an walk away as it closes , just don't forget to move the grass rake from the side of the garage as it closes , i'm now a proud owner of a rather banana shaped rake.
Yes it does have safety cut out , but only after it tried its best to totally fubar said rake.

Check out the VAT on the quote when you get it - according to their website, they think it is still at 20%
What's wrong with that?Maybe I've missed something!
Glad only one person picked up on it Maybe everyone else was just ignoring the resident idiot?!?
I guess its too late to remove my post, especially now it has been quoted

Erm, I appear to have had a cider induced fail last night!!! For some reason, I thought it had dropped back down to 17.5% No idea what gave me that idea.
