So I'm looking for an estate and I get £450 pcm to pay for it, thats everything bar fuel.

Am I insane to want this?

Most will call you insane for not wanting the diesel.

Good choice in my view.

No.

It's perfectly normal to crave for a V8.

To crave for a diesel, on the other hand, is positively abhorrant.

No, it's a good price. Shame its a slusher though... Could be an alternative M5 Tourer 'Lite'!

Bought for cash maybe, but I can think of better ways to spend £450 pcm than on a 8 year old bmw!

I will be getting £450 a month but I can also pocket the balance, if there is any.

I know V8 = amazing and everything but if you're on the motorway at 75mph then this will use double the fuel of a 520d while doing exactly the same job. V8 in a TVR, well there are good reasons for that, motorway mile-muncher, I'm not convinced.

I don't know the market on these but it seems expensive to me. What a nightmare car to try and sell right now.

Was only a month or two ago you could get a brand new C63 AMG or 640d for that kind of money. There's still some stonking personal contract hire deals out there if you look hard enough smile

I think your perfectly sane. I was at the petrol station the other day and a normal looking 5 Series comes in pulls up, I clocked the usual twin tail pipes and looked for the 530d badge and instead it said 545i. My first thought was "He knows".

It's positively frugal compared to the M5.

I still can't get my head around the tiny wheels though. Looks a bit "special"

Seems like a lot of ££££ for an 8 year old BMW to me. Plus it doesn't seem very 'special' when you consider the running costs likely to be associated with that engine.

If you want one then fine..... but could you not find a nicer colour with better alloys?

I would rather have the better ride and a unique colour.

I have no info so have a google, but if you want a V8 get the 550i as I'm pretty sure the 545i/645i engines are far from bullet-proof.

For the price of a 550i Touring you can buy an M5 Touring. No brainer.
