I know its a Firebird and not a Trans am but I am getting quite a strong feeling of Smokey and the Bandit from that car.

If you seriously wanted to buy it, it's only 36 km away from my home and I could go take a look at it.

Nothing wrong with you, you should buy it and bring it to the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Thank you, but it's only 31.5 KM from mine smile Kind offer though!

EDIT: Do you live on the island in Montreal? I live in Downtown and I'm trying to convince myself I need a car...

Itd just be a toy, or for summer trips to the shops, if that makes a difference.

Question, would I likely die in a 5 mph crash in a car of this vintage?

The large engine would act as a battering ram, so no worries there.
Or be pushed back inside the car and crush your legs to a bloody pulp.

Yeah,i agree with this.
Ditto - I used to live in the area and have been to the Dreamcruise. I just wish there was an affordable way to get any of my cars over for that from the UK.

Not sure I'd buy a Firebird, though.

It's a petrol heads cars, so fully PH in my mind. smile

Ok it's not the fastest or most out landish Firebird of the 2nd Gens and its not the most collectible. But they look great, make all the right noises and are the perfect platform if you wanted to mod it.

In the UK it'd be akin to buying a Triumph Stag, which is rather cool IMO.

Better solution: don't have a 5mph crash.

Now go buy it and remove the silencers. BLUB BLUB BLUB BLUB BLAH BLAH BLEE BLEE BLUB BLUB biggrin

Nothing wrong with that, but do bear in mind that the 4.9 301 engine put out between 135 and 170bhp when new so could easily be into double figures by now and either way will be slooooooowwwwww. smile

Yeah, I've gone off it for that reason, can anyone else suggest a nice classic for me, around $8,000CAD if you're aware of the currency, and bear in mind I live in Montréal, where it is balls off a brass monkey for about 4 months a year smile

This is also tempting:
