With maybachs impending demise on the horizon - I'm interested to hear whether any petrol-heads actually 'liked' the revival of Maybach?

My only thoughts of maybach are:

- ugly Chinese versions of the s class
- Extremely overpriced
- bad image or should I say 'swagga' (associated with clueless billionaires and bellends such as kanye west)

I appreciate it for what it is, but I don't like any luxury cars, particularly.

Not a loss.

RR Phantom did everything better while at the same time not looking like a Korean S Class.

Very nice. I was briefly the official Maybach specialist at the MB dealer where I worked, some of the touches were very very nice, don't forget they're in a different market to the Phantom really, Phantoms are designed to be driven whereas the Maybach is solely designed to be driven in.

Disagree - Phantoms are designed to be driven in just like the Maybach, This is why RR made the Ghost. The Ghost is designed to be driven. The RR PR team love to shout about this fact....

To my taste Maybach is as pointless as Bugatti. However, Maybach made the fatal error of the car looking too much like a bloated S-class.

People who pay for "exclusive" want to get "exclusive". At a lower price point this is why a £70k car will always be much more desirable than the £70k version of a £35k car. It is also why Ferrari don't produce a stripped-down V6 Ferrari 458 for £100k

Not a car I like, but there are some lovely bits of design inside them.

I have to ask... what were the sales targets like?

Never a chance in the small city I was in but each dealer had to have one.

The problem with the majority of Maybachs, is they are just too regular degular...

Something like this, but maybe 'jazzed up' a little (too subtle for my tastes), would go down a treat...

I saw one in the mega Brussels showroom way back when they first came out.

They look horrible chintzy in pictures and they're obviously just a large S-Class with lots of posh bits but IRL they're pretty impressive.

I'd love to be the CEO of some horrible corporate company and be chauffeured around in one, seat reclined back so I don't have to see the peasants outside.

If the Maybach looked like an upmarket version of a W140/W220, I think everyone would love it. But it looks like Kia's failed attempt of making a bigger S Class, which is why everyone is slating it.

Take a look at this video, the Maybach looks ALOT better like this. hehe
