Ragged? Didn't really get that much abuse I think. 10 grand's strong money but it looks like a good one.

He sat it at 145 plus mph for a good stretch, and then took it round a track, he never the most sympathetic of drivers is he.

And 10 grand's is very strong money i think.

All performance cars are going to get ragged that's the point of them.

Do cars really double in value when Clarkson drives them, it is an interesting aside but doesnt add any value in my eyes.

I sat my old Sapphire at ~150 for an extended period once too. I never tracked it but it occasionally got driven very hard. Nature of the beast surely? I wouldn't pay 10 grand of my money for it but that's a lot more to do with the market than it is with the fact Clarkson drove it.

Its not purely about the fact hes abused it, i just dont understand where these jokers pick there figures from when it comes to sale time.

And yea i sat mine at 150 to but it was serviced and looked after, yea they were built to be driven i just never understand the "heres the top gear car" and its double what they paid for it but come and be a sucker and buy it.

As stated a quick browse about will find you a 400 BHP one for half the money, or possibly an escort but it might be a dog.

Personally - even as a classic Ford 'fanboy' I can't see the value. It would need to be in AMAZING condition (in fairness though it DOES look the part) and even then there are two problems.
(actually 3)
1) If it was that good I'd be paranoid about driving it.
2) If you are spending 10k on an 'occasional car' there is an awful lot else you could buy..
3) (and probably most fundamentally) I was lucky enough to scratch this itch a while ago. It was good - but not great....

I reemed my Sapph to within an inch of its life on several occasions and melted a couple of spark plugs once!!

I do think the 10k price tag is a bit steep, it isnt that great and did suffer in the episode.
