Me and my Evo IX FQ MR 360 by HKS :D
Discussion
hi all, I've been lingering around these forums for a while, kinda like a bad smell
but i thought id better introduce myself... and my little monster.
I've been on the road since 16, with a hunger and passion for speed, and exotica, my first bike was a Rieju Matrix RS2 50cc, i tuned and blew that to pieces and rebuild it more times than i care to remember, then i moved onto a Cagiva Mito Evo Mk2, again, i tuned and blew it apart manny a sunday afternoon, ounce on a school night, but shhhhhh..... Then when i got bored of rebuilding two strokes, i took my full bike test, 33bhp restriction mind... yeah... THAT... i still have the washers
i got myself a pretty nicely setup Honda VFR 400 NC30, loved that to pieces, not much tuning this time, but i did break the gearbox, something never change! in the mean time, i bought my first car, a BMW 316i Coupe, I'm not one to blend in and do what everyone else is doing. it was slow, and expensive, but most of all, it was mine and it was different to all the corsa's and saxo's. then when i eventually got bored of the VFR, i went balls deep into the unknown realms of unreliability, and bought myself a Ducati, a Ducati 749s, which i owned for 3 years, and what a bike it was, took it to the ring, terrorised wales and Lincolnshire many a weekend, during the ductai ownership, decided i wanted to build a track car, so i went and bought a nissan 200sx, stripped it, stitch welded it, chopped the miles of rust off and welded in nice shiny new stuff, finally collected all the shiny bits, then i lost my job, big down turn in my life, i had to sell the car, all the bits, and the Ducati, kept the BMW as it owed nothing. i kept the BMW until recently, when i decided, enough was enough, its time to be stupid and sped loads of money, so i did just that, and the bank managers coughs and splutters where in the form on my current, Mitsubishi Evolution IX FQ MR by HKS... the final edition, and the fastest of the IX's, iva had it since January, in which time, I've been grinning from ear to ear, theres a slight gap between a 109Bhp BMW that weighs the same as the Isle of Wight, and an Evo that has 360Bhp... anyways, I'm rambling, I've you've managed to stay awake this long, ill reward you with some pictures.
Thanks for reading.
Brad.

I've strongly considered buying one of these myself, but the piss-poor interior (even for a car where the money goes on the loud bits), and the drug dealing chav image, put me right off.
Really? I'm not sure I'd consider an Evo a drug dealer's car - they're too obvious. A bit uncultured, ridiculous, yes. But the chav/drug dealer surely goes for the Impreza/Focus instead, if they're into rally reps.Nice car OP - sounds like you've managed to get yourself something special.

Agree that the perception is this, but the reality is somewhat different. The turbonutter cars cost a fair whack to run, and insurance can be astronomical if your less than 30. Furthermore, if I had 9oz of hash in my pocket this type of car is the last thing I would want to be seen in...You can't take it away from these things... When it comes to the business of covering ground, there are few things that stand a chance of keeping up. Any proper petrol head, whether you like them or not, should appreciate that...
OP, lovely car. One of these is certainly on my hit list

Nice car OP, join the http://www.lancerregister.com/ if you havent already.
Thanks
I'm already an mlr member, same username.
Ah, a previous owner... I have some questions, Has it been mapped? If so by who, and for what, switchable maps?
The fuel costs are hilarious... Think I'm going to start recording my econemy in galleons per mile, I might get a higher number!
The dash isn't that bad ounce your behind it with the doors shut, I must admit, it almost put me off the car altogether until I got in it, then I fel in love with it!
What the dash dose do, it stops stuff hitting you in the face when you boot it if you left crap on it

Assuming it is my car (reg was WX57***) then it didn't have a switchable map. I had the HKS EVC with one map (it has the option for switchable maps), HKS racing induction kit and Mongoose exhaust. It was running at least 400bhp so hopefully it wasn't stripped back to stock for you. On top of the power upgrades it had a fast road geometry setup, bigger front discs, braided lines and uprated pads. All the work was carried out at Steve Hill Motorsport.
