No problem with that cycle. It's just short trips they don't like as the DPF gets blocked as it can't get hot enough to burn off the soot

Do that with mine from time to time, sits at the airport then gets driven home (100 or so miles)

In winter it was a little slow to crank over, but the battery is 6 years old now. that's going to be your main concern over fuel/ignition etc

Can you please define short trips?

Our workhorse is a mondeo diesel which is now relegated to shopping cart but it seems wrong to sell it as it is so reliable and worth about 73p on open market.

In a month it will do about 4 or 5 roundtrips of about 2 miles total each trip and about 4 trips of 25 miles total each trip.

Best way to use it assuming the battery is good.

If the battery is getting on a bit might want to stick a trickle charger or consider a new battery but 2-3 weeks should be no problem.

How old is the Mondeo and does it have a DPF? Short trips are only an issue with cars with DPF. A short trip, I would say is less than 10miles.

They need to be run periodically for around 20mins between 2k-2.5k rpm constantly to allow DPF to regen. 20 mile blast up a motorway is ideal
