I drove it (an old garden shed) to the dump the other day. I was worried that the Old Nill may spot me and do me for an unsafe load (3pts?)....got there without incident but I was waiting for a large twang and seeing pieces of the shed falling all over the road!

Wont the smaller pieces in the middle be sliding all over the place? They might cut into the straps if they hit them hard enough.

The moment it goes round a roundabout the bits in the middle will flop all over the place.

Pack it with the big bits at the bottom and small bits at the top and ideally strap each piece individually to the car and repeat the process with each piece you put on top.

Give me strength.

I'd drive it, I'd keep a close watch on it and I probably wouldn't want to go much faster than 30 though...

as has been said the large pieces should have all been at the bottom and the smaller pieces strapped seperately from the large pieces.

perfectly safe smile

can you let me know your route so I can set up the table & chairs biggrin

dont know what's more worrying, the fact that its not obvious to you or the fact that many have said it's safe hehe

I'm hardly a cautious person if you see 'our build' thread, but when you put others at risk nono

Not often you see a shed underneath a garden hut...

Rubbish. Most manufacturers permit about 70kg on roof bars. This is a structure designed to support the impact of the car rolling. A few panels of dry rotten wood is not going to cave it in.
