Tyre compounds

Hi,

I need a set of tyres for my Audi, but the recommended tyres are not available.

The tyres in question are Pirelli P Zero 275/35 ZR20. This tyre apparently comes in three different versions. The Mercedes version is available, but the Audi version is not.

I am told that I can use the Merc version, but I really don't understand the difference. The Merc version is made with a different compound.

I can get a set of Dunlops.

Can somebody please advise?

Just fit the Mercedes spec tyres, they won't be that much difference.

There might not be any difference, other than the stamp on the size.

OE approval is a messed up business.
