Hi

I'd be interested in hearing back from any of you doing the daily drive from Wokingham to Sunbury as to what the typical drivetime is and the best route.

Cheers

My girlfriend used to drive from Bracknell to Thames Ditton so a similar route. During the christmas break she could do the route in 25mins. Any other time it could take 1hr on a good day, to up to 2hours.

The A322 from Brackell to M3 always chocker as its a main route so normal stop start all the way to the junction. The M3 to M25 was often bad traffic, and any accidents on the M25 which normally is daily causes heavy delays. Once past the M25 towards the Sunbury turn off was normally clear. Traffic got heavy again once onto the main road to Hampton Court.

The way back isnt as bad, but can get traffic on the M3/M25 junction as cars join onto the M3. They have changed the road layout to make joining easier, but loads of drivers seem to not understand, in the wrong lane etc.

In the end my girlfriend hated the commute as it seemed everyday there was an accident somewhere along the route and causing constent jams and she could never arrive on time for work no matter how early she left before her shift.

I face the same delay and often go via Ascot and join A30 past Sunningdale. It's slow but moving. If I leave home after 07.00 this is the route I take. If I can start before 06.45 the M3 is usually OK.

My friend works in Roehampton and commutes from Crowthorne as said the same. As long as he leaves by 6.30 then the A322 and M3 are no problem. Any later than 7 and you take the risk of traffic.

If you take the back route on the A30 where abouts does it bring you out? Do you still have to join the M25? I mentioned this to my girlfriend at the time but she didn't know if it was worth while time wise?

It brings you out at Jct 13 on M25. You could stay on A30, go past Staines, and turn off towards Sunbury on A308 at Ashford.

That is the way I would go.
Avoid the M3 and 322
