I saw a white BMW M5 as a bog standard taxi today. It could have been a 520d with an M badge on it for all I know but it looked legit!

This was in Medway area of Kent if any locals have seen it too. Tempted to track down the taxi company and say I want to get somewhere FAST!

I saw a White Rolls Royce Phantom Taxi in Belfast last week

apparently it's the owner of the big Taxi firm who occasionally does fares in his own RR for a bit of publicity

Surely it has to be the ring taxi, even if it is a bmw

That is fantastic. There used to be Subaru Impreza STI taxi out my way a few years back but council eventually shut him down due to complaints over his driving (allegedly).

There is a guy up in Inverness with an old Discovery - during the winter months he gets all the business!

There is an Audi S4 taxi that goes about too, but I have not seen it for a while.

I remember once getting run to the station in an eight seat, stretched Mercedes 280e. That was a little different.

Been in a few S-Classes.

Saw this last year:

If best means longest lived, it has to be up there - over 20 years old in Washington DC.

I thought that would have been the 'Rock Bus' that operates out of Stavanger, only been in it once but its a great experience. Mercedes Sprinter fully kitted out with leather seats, mood lighting, flat screen tv's and banging sound system. It really does ROCK!

There is the 'disco cab' around our way. No flat screen TV's but a decent upgraded sound system with alot of lighting inside, also a bloke runs an Audi A6 with a 3.0l

Saw an old shape (the ones that rust?) E55 AMG used as a taxi around here once. Again, it's possible that it was a lesser model badged up as an AMG but it looked legit, and was in much better nick that most of those E-classes tend to be.

Not that old, there are still 1950's cars been used as taxi's in cuba!

Merc W123 is still a firm taxi favourite all over the place.
