Ok so don't take this to seriously, but I am after some advise.

I feel like I need a slower car. my golf is epic, its biblically fast. but I don't enjoy driving it any more. I feel like it beats physics into submission to be fast, rather than working with it. also its just to fast to take it any ware near its limits, on a public road. I always feel like I am at 60%.

I had to go out just now. so I took the long route home. it was a little wet and greasy out. I had so much fun behind the wheel trying to find the grip and get as much power as possible to the road.

I am I broken?

before you say MX5 I have an irrational hatred of them.

VR

my spelling and punctuation will always be this bad.

Your Golf looks stunning.

I would keep it. Have you ever thought about doing a 1300cc conversion? I haven't seen it done before but could prove to be quite exciting.

Do you need more than 2 seats? Budget if you were to change vehicles?

My preferred route would be lighter car needing less power to go quickly and having less inertia so handles better and can be fun at non-silly speeds. Don't get hung up on the bhp figure, chase the purity of the driving experience.

Something non-turbo

Type R of some description? Still quick, but they don't deliver like a sledge hammer.

Nothing wrong with that at all, it is nice being able to drive a car right on its limit sometimes while staying within the constraints of the law / roads that you are on - which you really can't do with more powerful cars on the public roads without driving far too fast or putting other drivers in danger.

My 1.8 Mondeo was a blast because I could drive it right on its limit on occasion, and I really knew what that car could do. However the ST24 I had afterwards and the E46 I have now are a bit different - you just can't drive them that hard outside of a track. Still great cars, just in a different way.

This also may be because the cars limits far exceed mine, and thankfully I know that hehe

Get yourself a sub £1k Puma and get it all out your system smile

What about a 2.8i Capri? Or even a 3.0S!!

Mine were both epic cars & i wish i still had one, or both, sitting in my garage alongside a TR6.

Integra Type R DC2, so very different to your Golf because you have to work at it for the rewards.
If you would rather stick to VW then a Lupo Gti would be fun.
If you really want to be extreme then an original Mini would teach you so much about the importance of keeping up momentum, lots of people will overtake you but you will be grinning much more than them as you 4 wheel drift around a bend at 20mph wink

I think he wants a car where he feels like that all the time, not just on a wet, greasy April evening.

E30 325i. Not a huge amount of power but exploitable chassis and plenty of opportunity for tail out action.
