Run flats life span
Discussion
Got my company car, nothing exciteing, 118d. Believe it's known as a executive sport these days isn't it. :-P. anyway want them off but company won't pay for any new tieres untill I have done how ever many miles it is for them to run out.
Just wondering if any one knew what the kind of mileage I would be getting out of them untill I can take them off and get some proper tieres with a proper ride.

Depends entirely on how you drive. Just wondering if any one knew what the kind of mileage I would be getting out of them untill I can take them off and get some proper tieres with a proper ride.
A boy racer could cook the tyres in 5000 miles easily. My maiden aunt would probably never wear them out. Tyres wear more than any other component in accordance with use. Except possibly brake linings.
I would expect reasonable use to give at least 6000 to 10,000 depending on you.

About this, I managed 25k on a set of rears on my 123d
What brand were they? I went through a set of pirelli euforias front and rear all wore out at the same time in 16k on a 120d, bridgestones were better, and goodyears seemed even better again mileage wise.Five minutes, once you have gone over your first pothole and knocked your fillings out and broke your back then you will want to change them.
I was in a BMW mini where we went over a pot hole with run flats , we ended up putting the gear linkage through a rad hose bloody things plus I was told by the garage after getting a nail in a brand new tyre that it couldn't be repaired.
Also they are bloody expensive.
