Hi all,

Just a quick question, I hope. I'm selling my car and want to retain my personalised registration, and I see here which form I need to fill in and how much it's gonna cost me - £105 to retain for one year, which I understand is the £80 transfer fee plus £25 for the one-year retention.

The question is, does that £105 therefore include the fee for transferring the plate back onto another vehicle within the retention time, or do I have to pay again to do that? It's not clear anywhere I can see.

I don't have my next car yet, so can't transfer the plate directly. I just don't want to end up paying far too bloody much to do it this way!

Thanks in advance smile

Yes, it includes the fee for putting it onto the next vehicle.

Great, thanks for that. £105 I can just about stomach, but £185 seemed to be taking it a bit far for a plate that only cost that in the first place!
