Temporary insurance

Could anyone help me solve a problem I'm having?

I'm buying a car in the UK (I'm Belgian), but it appears I can't get Belgian insurance as the car is not known in Belgium (yet).

Does anyone know of a temporary insurance (for one day, or two if possible) that would allow me to use the car? (on it's UK plates I presume)

This is pretty urgent, as I had planned to cross the channel on Saturday.
