need to get some 225/55 r16 99W tyres for my V12, I had Nokians before and they impressed me but am look at these Kumhos, at about 86 quid a corner.
Any one with a powerful (300bhp +) rear drive car have experience on these, or can point me in another direction at the same price... I refuse to pay more the a ton a corner as I'm constantly side ways.....
You valued help is appreciated

ok so I am not running RWD. but running 345bhp and 380lbft, and I recommend Toyo T1R's once you get over the tread movement and bed them in.

I got mine on ebay in Jan, for £62 per corner although I run 195/45/R16's. the kumho's are good though.

I burn through my fronts pretty fast, but I would rather run Toyo R1R's.

Having had T1-R's on my Corsa, I think they're a great tire, but they are also pretty soft. Wouldn't that sort of power melt through them in very short order?

I'm actually going to buy some Maxis M35 tyres... speaking to a few who know, Toyo has invested millions in to this firm, M35 @ £66.50 per corner from Camskills.....

Check the load rating of the Kumhos. I bought some for my Mazda 6 MPS (300bhp 4wd) and they were not XL rated. They should have a load of 93, and mine were 89 which made them feel a bit soft and the steering more vague.

I'm going to get Falkens when these wear down.

I use the KU31 tyres XL load and to be honest they are a good tyre. think it was 75-80 quid for 17's and for my 19s it was 130.

Had Uniroyal rainsprt that were quickly taken off as they were brutal on the ute.

You might have trouble finding KU31's - I have been told that they are now discontinued - I needed a pair and ended up with KU39's which I was told were the replacement for the KU31

I used to use these on a Volvo s60 d5 (read as heavy and lots of torque) and they were fine, every bit as good as premium brands i had also used.

Just to update, I fitted the Maxis M35 tyres, 225/55/16's and drove the car in all that rain we had this week end. I was astounded how well the tyres gripped, no aquaplaining, no understeer. All good!

Also had these on a Volvo S60 D5 and found them spot on for the money, they have been discontinued though.

RE using them on a powerful RWD car, have a look in the tyre review wiki, I think there is a review by someone who used them on a F355.
