Horrible looking cars. Please just leave it where they found it.it is not an iconic ford, or even and interesting one, it cant hold a candle to the early lotus cortina's

Much Rather drive that around than a BMW or an Audi.
Is it great car ? No not really but its something different.
what's it going to sell for 10-20k? and if you used it you would kill its valueIs it great car ? No not really but its something different.
far far more interesting and usable classics out there for those who don't want a euro box

What's the crack for registering it with DVLA then? It's 30 yrs old, but never registered. Would it go on a new '12' plate?!
I reckon it would need to visit an approved MOT place and be certified roadworthy?
I am curious by this to, surely it is a 'new' car? AFAIK there is nothing in the registration process that asks when a car was made, just when it is registered?I reckon it would need to visit an approved MOT place and be certified roadworthy?
A MkV Cortina on a 12 plate, now that's funny...

The only bit of that article that made me think "oh, really?!?" was the paragraph where he talks about pulling it on a trailer with his other cortina "which is actually older than this one"...
Being that the one up for sale was the last off the production line, I'd say that every single other cortina ever built is older than that one!!

A car can't be registered and appear newer than what it is. If the age of the car can be verified it would be registered as the old style 'Y' reg. If the age can't be verified I would have thought it would be given a 'Q' reg. I think that's how it works anyway and how it works when cars are imported and registered here.I reckon it would need to visit an approved MOT place and be certified roadworthy?
I like it, but thats my heart ruling my head a little. My Dad had the Mk3 when I was a kid, one of the first cars I recall (the numberplate was possibly HON 53V), it was red with a black vinyl roof and the ghia. I loved that car.
He chopped it in for the Mk4, again another red one. Whilst it didn't make the same impression on me it is still a car I remember with fondness from days out and family trips etc.
I did debate buying myself a MK3 some years ago and then Ashes to Ashes pissed on my bonfire and prices went up :/

And surely a Cortina is not rated to tow the weight of a car trailer with another Cortina on top? Being that the one up for sale was the last off the production line, I'd say that every single other cortina ever built is older than that one!!

I was never a fan of the Mk4 and Mk5 Cortinas, boxy blandmobiles that seem to give an image of decrepit council estates to me.
