Bit of an odd question but Google isn't really helping, or maybe I'm typing my question wrong.

I fancy getting a dateless reg plate and I'm interested in ones that are purely numerical. However, when I search on reg sites, the only options are for current style, prefix and dateless plates, the latter of which just seem to be irish plates.

I've seen purely numerical plates on other car so I know that you can get them. How do you find them though?

Hopefully they're not too expensive. laugh

Thanks.

Not too expensive then. Cheaper option is to not care what the sequence of numbers and letters on your car represent.biggrin

Not sure you could permanently register a car that is kept outside Jersey / Guernsey on one of their plates - I may be wrong tho

Pretty sure the guy with the supercharged monaro in the readers cars has something like 587 007. vaugely remember him mentioning about obtaining the plate but was quite difficult and quite expensive to get it on the car

You cannot put a purely numerical registration plate on a UK mainland registered vehicle - they just don't exist. The closest you'll get is something like OO11 OOO where the O is the letter O and not the number 0.

Dateless numbers will always have a letter somewhere in them.

It's all in making the O look like 0 ...

I like them, DVLA auctions may be a good place to start, or I'd recommend chatting with the chap at Primo registrations (http://www.primoregistrations.co.uk/) who posts on PH and is decent fellow from experience.

Are you sure?
Or is MrReg correct in thinking they are 'O' s? Not zeros.

Probably originally issued from Chelmsford, so OO, not 00.
