What car!? Help!

I'm a 20 year old male nearly 21 and I'm trying to decide on a new car.
I would like something that will be fun to take out on a drive but as a regular golfer, I need to get a golf bag in the car, preferably in the boot but can put them on back seats.
Setting a rough budget of 4k, 5 at a push, but the main issue is insurance. At 20 its expensive anyway but I also have 3 points that I'm not proud of!
Anything from a convertible to a 4x4, pretty broad minded.
Any ideas?

Maybe a Audi A3 Quattro?

Not as fun as some cars in the price range, but it has space for your golf clubs and 4WD. Maybe opt for 3.2 if insurance is not too silly?!

Or Mk1 Skoda Fabia vRS?

EDIT: More info would help. (eg: mpg, seats, bodystyle, mileage etc etc)

if the only requirments are to fit golf clubs in and be insurable for a 20 year old id be tempted to go shedding there are some serious bargins out there if your sad enough have enough time to look through ebay/autotrader a friend of myn got an isuzu trooper 3.1 turbo diesel with 12months mot for 400 quid not most peoples cup of tea but a big old heap for not much money just depends what milage you do.

More details: dont have a big drive to work and dont get much mileage done so dont have to worry about things like mpg or mileage too much. Rarely have to hand out lifts these days so seats arent too much of a worry either as long as theres 2 i'd be happy!
