Basically looking to sell my car within the next couple of months, iirc the mot runs out in august.

obviously it'll be easier to flog the car with a full years mot on it. (although its mechanically sound, general condition leaves much to be desired).

So i was just wondering can i get a new mot put on it whilst the current one, valid?

actually on reflection, it maybe worth running the mot out, until a potential buyer comes along; and if they are prepared to buy it, i could put the mo on it? hmmz

P.S. what do you reckon a w plate 1.4 ibiza is worth, about 50k on the clock, pretty solid, but full of scratches from the previous owner (mega thin paint). i'm thinking somewhere in the region of 5-600?

You can have a car tested at any time.

If you let the MOT expire, potential buyers won't be able to test drive it, unless they're driving it to a booked MOT and properly insured.

Get it sold now and let someone else worry about the MOT.

i don't have time to sell at the moment, with exams and holidays. want to sort a BMW out first, so will buy one, then keep that at the grandparents (sorn) until i sell mine.
