Hi All, I'm going to that london tomorrow, I was thinking of heading down to an outlying tube station and getting in that way.
Any recommendations? A pleasant enough area where I can park round the corner and not have my stuff nicked perhaps?

At a guess, I'd be going down the A/M11

Plenty of single yellows to park on as it is a Sunday.

I'll be seeing some friends who are over here on Holiday, so basically the square mile area touristy stuff and wotnot.
I don't really care once I'm on the tube network. I'm after something that doesn't involve me driving through the centre or trying to park.
I just want to stop the car at a convenient station, hop on the tube and meet them wherever they are.

I know this isn't very PH, but what about just getting the train to Liverpool Street from Norwich?

Works on the line, I'm on a coach for half of it and it's twice the price compared to the fuel frown

It is surprisingly easy just to park in central London on a Sunday. Sometimes you can park right outside where you want to go.

Come down the M11, just at the bottom come off at (2 minutes off M11) Redbridge, there's parking at the station or just next door in the holiday inn (CCTV'd , secure and costs a tenner for the day) then hop on the tube at Redbridge straight into London, did this last weekend when we went down the West End and was a doddle...

They're on holiday to visit the closed financial district?

Saturday will be fine to drive into town, M11, A12, A11, park up near Aldgate for free and bus/ tube anywhere.

Eta paying a tenner or parking at Redbridge is madness on the weekend.

Redbridge station. Literally right at the bottom of the M11. No problems parking on a Sunday and Central line straight into London. Just check tube web for any engineering works. smile

ETA was going to link Jakesters post from last week, you got there before me. biggrin

I should clarify we went last Sunday on the same day as the London marathon Aldgate wasn't an option, an paying a tenner for secure parking with decent size spaces and access right next door to a resturant with clean toilets is worth it when you have kids and a decent daily...

Maybe not then. Anywhere inside the M25 is "That London" to a bumpkin like me. smile The middle bit, with the stuff. That's where they'll be!

Thanks for the advice everyone.
My plan is to arrive, ring them and say "What tube station are you near?" Then get to it!
