Hyundai Tucson cutting out

Pal of mine has a newish Hyundai Tucson and he tells me that he will be driving along and the engine cuts out. He pulls to a stop and the engine starts again fine only to cut out again later. It originally started playing up when turning corners but now seems to do it under any circumstances.
He took the car to the nearest Hyundai agents 50 miles away where they put it on their diagnostics machine and they said there is nothing wrong with the car. It is happening three or four times on a short journey of a couple of miles now.
Does this model car have an inertia switch that is supposed to cut off the fuel supply in an accident and if so where is it located as I am sure that this must be the culprit. If this car does not have one are there any other thoughts as to the problem?
