Local Rag said:
A BEAUTY salon owner today spoke of her devastation after a car ploughed into her shop – destroying her business.

The Celebrity Smile shop was only opened in Cleveleys six weeks ago, but today it lay in ruins.

A BMW veered off the road and careered through the front window after the 75-year-old driver is believed to have fallen ill at the wheel.

Shocked locals spoke of hearing a ‘huge bang’ as the car smashed through a bollard and into the window, at around 1.40pm yesterday

Am I the only one waiting for somebody to make a comment about "Bloody coffin dodger shouldn't have been allowed on the road"

Not a sentiment I agree with, but we all know somebody is going to say it

Well i'm not going to say it. The car & shop can be repaired. As for the driver - looks like he is ok.

No reason why someone of 75 shouldnt drive - he would have been passed fit to drive by his Doctor & as we all know you dont have to be 75 to have a heart attack.

My brother in law had a heart attack at 49 yrs old - he didnt survive it & my others halfs dad died from a heart attack at 51.

So age & heart attack dont always go hand in hand. Just ask Mulumba about that a few weeks ago. How old is he? 22? 23?

So, if you are on the pavement and have to avoid the M3 as it careers into the shop, doesnt that make you a Coffin Dodger Dodger ?

Too right, they've not even walked closer to the scene either, looks like someone just popped out the front door and grabbed a quick snap?! To be fair it looks like it's raining!

Don't think they do - I think it's a self-certify thing.

Exactly, maybe it's just the cynical git in me that waits for as soon as the age of the driver is mentioned I have a mental countdown for the whole "They were to old to be on the road, They are too young to have such and such vehicle, they're to beige to have anything more interesting than a Vauxhall Vectra" etc etc
