Just wondering what everyones thoughts were on buying a car that has been repossessed? I have come across a web-seller on ebay who has got cars that seem to be on auction for fairly substantial discounts to what they should be traded at. I was wondering, if apart from the obvious like ensuring that all finances are clear what everybody's thoughts are on buying a repossessed car? are they legitimate sales and safe? I know there one should always view a car before buying, but was just seeing if anyone had done it before or had any stories. Many Thanks. CT

It's perfectly safe to buy a finance repo, most major auction houses have repo sales all the time. Just get an HPI before you pay the balance or contact the finance house who will confirm if they have interest in it. I've been in the motor trade for years and have bought lots this way.

They had a car for sale two weeks ago advertised as a finance repo.

It had been through BCA Blackbushe twice on behalf of the Honda dealer who had taken it in part exchange with all keys and paperwork.
