Quick Cherished / Personal Registration Number

Hi Guys

I was wondering if you could help me with a quick cherished registration question.

I recently bought a car with a cherished registration on it, which the previous keeper wants to keep. So, we sent off the V317 form with the V5C and I am waiting for the documents and new allocated reg number to come back to me from the DVLA.

I have now seen a different cherished registration number that I want. Do I need to get it on retention and then transfer it to my car when the paperwork comes through, or is there a different method?

Simplest way, from what you've said, is to wait for the current transfer to complete then put the new one on.
