driving eastbound tuesday in L1 approaching J5 when i hit this rather large Pothole. realy shook the car. Looked at my front RH tyre today and it has a carbuncle on it abot the size of a hens egg
Got onto Highways agency this pm and reported it. Also asked if like local councils i could claim for a new tyre. She gave me an incident number, and said someone would be in touch.
I have taken pics of the tyre and getting it changed tomorrow
Someone ITK said there have been several reported recently and i should also keep the tyre

Should i contact them advising that i have the tyre, and what are the chances of getting some cash back? anyone done this at all?

Means Hope this/that helps.

In reality, I think you'll be very lucky to get cash back.

I wouldn't give up hope. My mam has managed to get a new tyre paid for by the local council after ruining a tyre on a pothole. Fingers crossed!

Is it the one on the bridge in the left lane? It was rather big, but been repaired few days ago.

Hardcorehobbit. thanks for t heads up, there are so many abbreviations on here

Rick,
Certainly around there or thereabouts. it was just inside the outer edge of L1 IIRC. I have the tyre and pictures, also buggered uo the tracking et al. Bracknell tyres have a super whizz bang machine that sorts it all out, Done by Hondadave no less!!!

If you had got a photo of the hole then you might have had some recourse however being on the motorway that would have been impossible so I reckon you are screwed unfortunately.

They've been very good repaiing the M4 around here to e fair.

Couple of weeks ago the surface started breaking up over a bridge between J 11 & 10. They had the lane closed and a 100 metre stretch of the surface up and then relayed by the start of the evening rush hour.

It was an impresive responce to be fair.
