I saw this car yesterday in Northampton & have to ask what it is that drives the owners of cars to put huge blingy wheels on their cars.

Bentley wheels on an A3? Is it just me or is this just really wrong?!!

Seems to be a "thing" in VAG circles. IMO they are too big for that car but I've seen worse!

How the hell does that car turn - surely the car will be continually scrapping the wheel on the underside of the front wing too. It looks ok but is it practical?

No, but it looks cool. biggrin

Working off the assumptions of

1)20 years ago, slow cars had small wheels with high profile tyres, and teetered around on tall suspension
2)fast cars had big wheels with lower profile tyres, and had lower suspension
3)fast cars are cool

The "dub scene" came to the conclusion that

1)Putting big wheels, low profile tyres and low suspension on my car will make it look like a fast car, and therefore cool
2)The bigger the wheels, the lower the profile the tyres, and the lower the suspension, the cooler the car will be
3) Putting an enormous pile of rubbish onto a roof rack of your deliberately rusted late model VW is AWESOME.

Putting wheels from another brand (even a brand from the same corporate family) is totally lame. No one thinks your Bentley is an Audi, no one is impressed that you can afford Bentley wheels - they will more likely think they are stolen.

Mis-matching wheels seems to be a pretty big thing in the DUB community. Aftermarket wheels are a popular mod wherever you go, but you don't see Lancer Evolution owners putting 20" Land Rover wheels on their cars. The mis-matching is as bad as the sizes the DUB boiz choose, often choosing wheels that are far too big for that cars.
