Best %age discount achieved off a new car

Just wondering what is the best discount %age anyone has achieved recently off a brand new and unregistered car? There must be some bargains and dealers willing to deal at the moment.

We don't normally buy new for reasons often stated on here, but have recently got 28% off a new Z4 with the deals they were running in Q1, plus a bit extra on top. This actually made buying new cheaper than buying a used 1 year old car.

So for private individuals not companies, and excluding staff discounts etc, what deals have you got?

Only car I've ever bought new was a Montego diesel estate - employee of mine's father worked at BL and we got a 20% discount, plus reclaimed all the VAT.

I get 16% off any new BMW. Though seeing as a decent spec 3 series still comes to 35k plus I've never made use of it.

About 3 years ago Saab UK were offering circa 30% off a new convertible.

Dad got 35% off a Ford Granada Ghia in 1991. It was pre facelift, white, a 4 door and with the 2.0 8valve lump.
