I was just doing my daily sweep of the classifieds and saw this not to far from me -

http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Seller says its a mugen version, and this makes it faster? Not sure I'm buying it. Is it legit?

No, there is no such thing as far as I'm aware in the EP3 shape. Plus they're not Mugen wheels and that's not a Mugen grill.

There is a Mugen EP3, though I'm not sure how it was sold and they certainly didn't make many of them, perhaps only a couple of demo cars to show the products off.

Basically just an EP3 with all the Mugen kit on it, they did do quite a lot of stuff for the EP3 but whether its worth the price or not is up for debate, it ain't cheap stuff!

That one in the link is definitely not a Mugen EP3. I think if you see a real one for £5000, the seller has missed a "2" off the front of the price!

It's the mugen badge at the front that gives it away. Definitely genuine. That's 30hp right there.

No it is not a Mugen, the idiot thinks putting a Mugen badge in the front it will make it a Mugen,In the dashboard it reads "Type-R" if it was a Mugen it will have the Mugen logo in place of the TR one, check it out yourself.

And the Mugen EP3 has 10 hp more than the normal TR not 30.

It looked promising when the advert was loading (says alot) but the minute I saw the sub in the boot I knew that this was going to be a "it is what it is mate, HONEST" advert.

Do some people not realise there is something called Google that one can use to look up such special editions.

Not even close to being Mugen, they never did an official Mugen version for the Ep3 but you can get Splitters/spolilers/wheels/grilles/induction kits/exhausts/springs/and loads of other mugen add ons smile But with all that kit and that low mileage you'd be looking £7k+
I wouldn't buy it just because the seller clearly doesnt know anything about the car, so I doubt he would have treated it that well smile

There's one MASSIVE point on that car that should tell you it's not an offical MUGEN car.

I'll give you a hint, they're bright blue and there's 2 of them wink

There was no offical Mugen EP3. They've made parts for them, and probably had a few cars they built, but there was no offically released Mugen EP3.

No he said 'There is a Mugen EP3, though I'm not sure how it was sold and they certainly didn't make many of them, perhaps only a couple of demo cars to show the products off'

Which of course they had a few demo cars, but there was never an official Mugen EP3 available to buy. They didn't sell any, they didn't make any.

I would wager that any cars built by Mugen to show off their products are still in their possession or were sold back to (near) standard. Or they're sitting in some obscure japanese collectors collection and won't ever see these shores.

You could get Mugen FN2 in the UK, They were built in conjunction with Mugen-Euro.
