What is the current situation for cars such as mk1 golf GTI, 205 GTI, Clio 182 Cup and Trophy? The first 2 seem more expensive than last time I looked (year or more ago) and the second ones still going down (but slowly for the Trophy). Am I right? I quite fancy a hot hatch.

Thanks

Not many good examples of the old ones left so a good Mk1, Mk2 Golf Gti, Clio Williams, R5 GT, 205 Gti all going up in value. Most of these cars fell into neglect 10+ yrs ago so good ones are few and far between hence values going up.

Clio 172 still going down although cant see them going much below £1k, 182 being newer is still going down.

Very good examples of the older cars might be going up a bit but anything else will be static at best, in real terms.

Interesting - I would only do about 2-3000 miles per year and the rest of the time it will be garaged so it might be a good idea to get a low milage, excellent one and keep it that way. It will need to do some autotests too though!

the quickest way to devalue an excellent low milage example of these fragile cars is by using it, why not just get a good example with whatever milage that comes with it.
