Selling my TVR and wondered what peoples thoughts were on where to advertise at the moment.

(MODs pleasssse don't pull, i'm not linking my ad or plugging, just asking a question)

Obviuosly i've got an advert here but wondered where else is worth trying too?

AT?

eBay (classfied or auction?) ?

Thoughts?

I have sold my last 5 cars via Pistonheads if that is any help (all private sales).

Easy sales to pleasant people.

PS many thanks Pistonheads woohoo

I know people have a downer on eBay, rightly so in some cases, but I recently sold my R6 on it, using a classified with best offer and was perfectly happy(sold in less than 24hours!) got a price for it that I was totally happy with.

If your sensible and cover all the bases then its has one of the widest fields that gets viewed, that or autotrader.

I've tried selling on PH before and never even has so much of a bite.....I also find IME that PH adverts seem to be 'marked up' with a ever so slightly higher inflated price, which is odd. HOWEVER if I was in the market for a fairly niche car that had been pampered all its life, its more likely to crop up on PH.

Not sure if it's the weather but I've had little more than a sniff from PH and AT. A phone call from one and a half hearted email from the other, not even close to a viewing. On an S2000 so possibly similar buyer profile.

I tend to use eBay, true it's full of plonkers but there are genuine people out there too, plus I like the fact, you can see how many people have viewed, asked you questions etc, basically you can see for yourself that something is happening.

Put adds on here and get some interest but eBay always seems to do the trick for me.

I think the Car and Classic website is free, so maybe worth a shot.

I usually get loads of texts and emails from PH, but rarely actually sell a car on here. I am very impatient though and end up putting it on ebay (as an auction) after a couple of weeks.

Mines on PH at the moment but have not even had a whimper. I sold the Porsche via eBay though, within four days for full asking price, and had loads of phone calls. Will try AT next as heard good things. PH is more specialized in my opinion whereas AT is probably where the majority go first.

TVR= Pistonheads and Car & Classic, wouldn't bother with anywhere else. If it dosn't sell on those it is too expensive.

Not a lot of experience but when selling the MR2 the majority of the interest that I go came from Autotrader, with just a coupe of calls through PH. Autotrader is quite steep comparatively though.
