I've got 14 (7 pairs, of various Rover V8s)

Now they weigh 5 kilos each with the valves and springs out, however they have steel seats and guides frown which are a PITA to get out.

Because of the seats and guides does this make them only worth ferrous scrap money?

I know i wont get the dosh of 70 kilos of pure ali but i was hoping a bit more then just steel prices.

Any ideas? and scrappis on ph?

as they are scrap [i assume you have tried to sell them first] why not cut them up taking out all the none ali bits

then you will have a pile of ali to sell may be 60+ kgs

Not worth the effort of selling, literally worth more as scrap!

I did think this, shame ali is a bh to cut (haven't got a big chop off or bandsaw)

Maybe I'm being thick, but those heads are alloy rather than pure aluminium aren't they?

Surely the seats and guides will pop out with judicious use of a blowtorch and hammer? I rebuilt a Lotus twink head one evening in the garage like that... smile
